Manchester United 1997-1999 Away Jersey

Someone said i posted a lot of Vodafone shirts, so here's something not Vodafone. This is the Manchester United 1997-1999 away jersey.

This jersey is probably already 10 years old, but it is still in mint condition. One special thing about this jersey is the sponsor wordings, SHARP VIEWCAM, unlike its home jersey for the same season which only uses the word SHARP. Besides that, the words can reflect light. Here's a pic of it without flash:

Here's a pic of it with flash:

The crest is inside a shield, and this is the older version of the Manchester United crest:

Another Vapa Tech product from Umbro, which can be seen behind the jersey right under the collar:

This jersey is famously worn by Manchester United vs Arsenal in the replay of FA Cup Semi-final, where Ryan Giggs intercept a pass, dribble pass 5 defenders before scoring a bullet past the goalie. He then took off his shirt and twirl it over his head, showing his sexy hairy chest:

This goal gets Manchester United to the Final, win it, and also a part of the 1999 treble winner!

Manchester United 2005-2006 Away Jersey

This jersey is used as the away kit for the season 2005-2006.

Nothing particularly special about this jersey, except that the club crest have been moved to the center of the jersey, which previously is at the left side of the jersey (wearer's view). This is to emulate the 1985 Manchester United kit which positioned the club crest in the middle.

Here's a picture showing the nike tag serial number, washing label, the shirt lifespan which is from 2005 to 2007, but this jersey is only used until 2006 because for season 2006/2007, Manchester United changed sponsorship, this change of jersey.

Here's a picture of the players in this jersey:

Ok....this is not what i meant by "in action"....

Manchester United 2001-2002 Centenary Reversible Away and Third Jersey

Another item received today. This is the special reversible jersey produced to commemorate the centenary year of football under the name of "Manchester United". This jersey is the last of the Umbro away and third kit, together with the home kit.

The white side is used for away matches, while the gold colour side is used as the third kit. Of course, the player dont wear this, as the double layered shirt will be too heavy. Instead, players use single sided ones, while this reversible ones are sold as memorabilia. Besides that, this shirt have other details that makes it even unique.

A round logo on top of the club crest shows the period of 100 years from the usage of the name "Manchester United".

There's also a patch at the bottom of the jersey which shows that this jersey is an authentic licensed product.

The lifespan is shown at the bottom back of the white side, which is from July 2001 until April 2002.

On the gold side of the jersey, there's also the round logo on top of the club crest, and the shirt size now appears on the outside part of the jersey.

I like how the gold colour shines when a camera flash is used.

I cant find any pictures of a player in action using either of these kits, but i've found a picture of them posing in it:

Now, i have to decide which side of this jersey is to be shown when hung using a hanger...

Manchester United 2002-2004 Home Jersey

The second kit that arrived yesterday. This is after the Umbro era, changing the shirt sponsorship to Nike.

A long sleeve Kids XL (yes, i can fit into a kids XL), a long sleeve jersey is usually more awesome than short sleeve ones. In a game of poker, you can say that long sleeve is equivalent to a double, while a short sleeve ones are high hands. Of course, a Royal Flush would be the jersey worn by players during a cup final, For example the exact same shirt Mr. Ronaldo wore for the European Champions League 2008 Final , with his sweat and dirt on that jersey, that no jersey collectors will get rid of even if it means stinking the whole house.

Anyway, here's a shot of the shirt worn by the players during the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons:

Anyway, the earliest the next jersey to arrive is on Tuesday, because the office is closed for Saturday and Sunday, while Monday is the Queen's Birthday, so office closed too....the wait, the wait...

Manchester United 2000-2002 Home Jersey

This is the first of the many jerseys to come. I bought this jersey from eBay, and believe it or not, this is my first original jersey, and it's not even brand new :(

But nevermind, that's not the point of jerseys collection. Besides, you won't find this jersey which is brand new with tags easily.

First of all, i would say that all the jerseys that i collect must be genuine. No point collecting jerseys if you get the fake ones, no matter how good or similar the fake one is. It's just like you parading a modified Proton Saga to look like a Skyline. May look nice, but it's not the real damn thing.

Anyway, back to this piece of jersey:

This is an XL size jersey, which is a little bigger than my normal size, M or L. When wear, will look baggy. This is Manchester United' home jersey for seasons 2000-2001 and 2001-2002. This jersey is their first year undersponsorship from Vodafone, and also the last kit to be under Umbro.

Here's the picture of the players in this jersey. So, now i own a jersey that is used 8 years ago. And this is not the oldest one that i have....
